I'm very pleased that I ran my experiment towards utopia via open friendly rational conversation the way that I did.
It was how I was raised to be and I had to try it to its fullest extent before I could judge it.
Now that it's done I was curious whether a more Trumpian tactic (somewhat alien to my mores and manners) might have actually gotten the attention necessary to get the job done.
A friend responded:
You raised $3,500 in 2 weeks for the challenge of sneaking into the world cup final and not only did you get it but you even got in to the final. Your success demonstrated that when you stopped trying to help others out of piety, concern and super-human concern but made your life about pure entertainment and joy, people responded.
Trump's own goals and interests are irrelevant to your situation but the strong implication of your efforts was the message:
"I'm trying to save humanity through radical transparency.” That doesn't excite people. Now think if how you would have thought and spoken as Trump:
"I'm the only one who knows how to fix this. Nobody else can do it. I've done amazing things - got into the World Cup final, survived as the only Jew in Egypt. People say I'm incredible, really incredible. Now I'm going to do something even bigger, and you're either with me or you're missing out.”
Now I'm not saying that you have to speak quite as simply as this, but maybe if you sounded a lot closer to this than to a deeply conscientious moral and biblical scholar you might actually have gotten the energized support necessary to have made the difference you desired and actually brought about an end to war. It would still be a long-shot because people are huuuuge on grudges and enemy fighting but I think it might have worked, IT STILL MIGHT. But first you have to get rid of your suffering-servant identity and embrace being a regular human, you know, a regular human into himself above all.
Comments are open to everyone who's been following my mission for a while.
Is he right?
