This Purim we remember the two men God most publicly raised to lead and console the People of Israel and to bring peace unto all his earthly children.

Menachem Begin and Menachem Schneerson.

Their memories are blessed, as they should be.

We were unworthy of them and we wronged them through disobedience and doubts.

And worse — through our own selfish coldheartedness that failed to care or recognize the fallible fragile humanity that these two vessels of flesh and blood shared with all of the rest of us other mortals sons of adam.

On this holiest of holy days I appogize to their ghosts. I know it's too late but it's a necessary cleansing of our national and international souls for us to feel for them at least as much as we revere them.
