Israel made one inexcusable mistake.
Just one.
The leadership and army were so confident in their system for keeping terrorists out that they had no plan or preparedness for what to do if - somehow - hordes of terrorists DO break in.
The leadership was frozen.
Headless.
For hours.
The most organized and powerful army in the middle east didn't get involved in an organized fashion until the very end.
They rescued the couple surrounded by terrorists with machine guns who were LITERALLY PLANNING to die that night. They said so.
Suicide missions are not unknown to Hamas fellows.
They burst through the ceiling with some kind of Superdog and killed all the terrorists while they were seated a foot away from the hostages.
Because Israel knows that sort of thing can happen they learned how to do it and got better at it than any other force in the world.
But their leaders were plagued by the same Konceptzia as plagued Golda Meir in 1973.
Arrogance.
Bibi has survived in power against harsh odds and the sort of unfair treatment that populist leaders always receive at the hands of the connected ruling class.
Thus a massive number of enemy soldiers running amok inside Israel was far from his mind.
It wasn't that he didn't foresee paragliders.
If it were just 5 paragliders they would all be dead before they unstrapped themselves.
What he didn't foresee was…..
Well, I could tell you. I could tell you quite a bit actually, both about the actual Hamas plans and the pre-planned “on-the-fly" invasion of street kids who were placed in the right place and at the right time.
I could tell you WHY Hamas did it and the game that Haniyah and Bibi thought they were playing and how…..Bibi actually won that game! *
But what matters for this piece is that the hole in the prevention system was not the problem. There will always be holes. Israel’s prevention system was as accurate as any system could ever expect to be. It is probably the best in the world.
But no system is perfect, they know that better than I do, and yet (unlike every last village in Judea-Samaria) the individuals, communities, police, army —— and worst of all, The Ruling Class of Deciders had not given any thought about what to do in a mikreh hakol, worst case scenario situation should there be a flaw and the border be breached.

*Okay, I’ll give you this one. Pay attention. This is what happened.
Haniyeh: Hey Beebz! You know all those kids whose
