Israel made one inexcusable mistake.
Just one.
The leadership and army were so confident in their system for keeping terrorists out that they had no plan or preparedness for what to do if - somehow - hordes of terrorists DO break in.
The leadership was frozen.
Headless.
For hours.
The most organized and powerful army in the middle east didn't get involved in an organized fashion until the very end.
They rescued the couple surrounded by terrorists with machine guns who were LITERALLY PLANNING to die that night. They said so.
Suicide missions are not unknown to Hamas fellows.
They burst through the ceiling with some kind of Superdog and killed all the terrorists while they were seated a foot away from the hostages.
Because Israel knows that sort of thing can happen they learned how to do it and got better at it than any other force in the world.
But their leaders were plagued by the same Konceptzia as plagued Golda Meir in 1973.
Arrogance.
Bibi has survived in power against harsh odds and the sort of unfair treatment that populist leaders always receive at the hands of the connected ruling class.
